It's that time again...

Get your keyboards warmed up.  November is NaBloPoMo or National Blog Posting Month.  Once again your mission if you choose to accept it, is to agree to post at least once a day, every day, in the month of November.  You don't even have to do real posts.  Even posting a picture or video counts.  Last year we were able to keep going for several months and really had fun with it.  Many of you kept up with the posting too.  So if your blog has been lagging lately, this is your chance to turn it around.  You can even sign up at NaBloPoMo to try and get some new readers and win prizes.  Who's with us?

Double Take

They did it again. For the second time in 4 years the Red Sox came back from being one game away from elimination against both the Yankees and Indians and came back to sweep in the World Series against Cardinals and Rockies. Congratulations to the 2007 World Champions the Boston Red Sox.

Free Tacos

Thanks to the Red Sox stealing a base in tonights game against Colorado everyone in America gets a free taco from Taco Bell on October 30th from like 2-5pm. Here are Coco and Royce talking about it last night trying to understand this free taco thing.

I also love the Boston bullpen also known as the Black Pearl drum when they are rallying. I wish I could find video of it but all I can find is a photo.

9th Annual Idyllwild Camping Trip in October

I will start off with a link to the The story of how we became US

This last weekend was our Idyllwild trip and we had a great time. We were back to basics this year. It has been a few years since we auctually camped since we have been blessed to have our dear friends Sarah and Josh living in Idyllwild and were able to stay at their house. We started off by heading to our usual place to camp the state park but there was a sign saying no camp fires and we were so not going to last the weekend with out cooking over an open flame. So we headed down to the county park and lucky for us they were allowing camp fires. We got camp set up very quickly and settled in. We spent the evening just enjoying each others company, reading and watching an Indiana Jones movie.

On Saturday we woke up early got ready and had some breakfast. Then it was off to paint pottery! Again something we havent done in recent years. We spent about two hours creating some beautiful pieces to bring home. Afterwards we walked around town and then headed back to camp for lunch and pumpkin carving. Paul and I headed over to Camp to say hello to Paul's relatives. It was time for game 6 Indians vs. Red Sox so as per tradition we went over to the Idyllwild Pizza Co. to eat some delicious pizza and watch the game.

We woke up Sunday and had breakfast. Then started to pack up camp, after we were done it was time to go pick up our pottery, walked around town a little bit more and headed down the mountain. The wind was so horrible coming down the mountain I thought we were going to be blown into the side of it. Driving on the freeway it was pretty much a sand storm for the majority of the drive. We made it home safely to watch game 7.

Morales is

Balkable!

Beckett is pitching awesome. 7 strikeouts and only one walk.

Game is currently Boston 13 Colorado 1 in the bottom of the 5th.

And Joe Buck used Conan O'Briens word
"Jub-Jub" during tonights broadcast to win a $1000 bet

Back to the Future!

Who knew? Here we were last year with our Red Sox stuff at a Rockies game. Right place, wrong time I guess. I also have a pic of me tipping my Red Sox hat from the visitors dugout at Coors field....something I hope to see a lot of this week from the real guys. Game 1 starts today. If the Rockies want to win, they better do it quick, because like the Indians I don't think they will survive a trip back to Boston for games 6 and 7.

Go Sox!

Woo hoo!

The Red Sox showed signs of life tonight and won game 5 of the ALCS to send the series back to Boston for game 6 (and hopefully game 7).  The Indians did everything they could to get to Sox pitcher Josh Beckett including having his ex-girlfriend sing the national anthem.  They claim they had no idea the two had dated, but seeing as how no one has heard of her before tonight and she was a last minute replacement when Boston announced Beckett would pitch today, I don't buy it.  This will also keep our Idyllwild baseball streak alive.  We always go over to the pizza parlor in town and watch a playoff game while we're on our October camping trip.  If the series had ended tonight we'd be out of luck.  I'm just hoping this doesn't turn out like 2003 when the game we saw had Aaron Boone hit a walk off homerun to help the Yankees knock the Sox out of the playoffs.

It ain't over til Manny says it's over.

Finally!

It only took 30,111 vistors to our blog, but we finally have had a hit from each of the 50 states.  We've been stuck on 49 for over a year and a half.  Brad and I were wondering who would visit first:  North Korea or West Virginia.  Tough call since I didn't think anyone in either place had a computer.  I was proven wrong today though.  Apparently the intertubes have reached WV.  Congrats guys!

Of course their visit was made possible by johnkrasinski.net, who have now sent about 750 people to our blog this week.

Question: What do Jasper, Alabama and Al-Manamah, Bahrain have in common?

Answer:  Their love of John Krasinski from The Office!

Seriously, check out our site meter at the bottom of the blog.  When we posted those pics from the Kings game the other night, apparently the only other blog to have similar pics was Perez Hilton.  Some celebrity blogs found our pics and linked to them, so now we've been getting all kinds of people checking us out.  We usually average 16 hits a day.  The past 2 days we've had over 500....most from the johnkrasinski.net site.  I'm starting to see why there are so many paparazzi out there.  I had no idea so many people out there are obsessed with celebrity pics.  Maybe this could be a new career option for me.  I like taking pictures.  How hard could it be to learn how to stalk people?

Sweet Sunday

I had a free ticket to Six Flags Magic Mountain so I stole Morgan for the day and we headed up to Valencia. There was a bit of difficulty getting there as they shut down the 5 freeway about 3 miles before the park. There was apparently a 31 car crash with 2 big rigs involved on Friday night. We had to figure out an alternate route. Once we got there we started hitting the rides.
Our longest wait was about 25 minutes. I have never been up there when the place is decorated for Halloween, it was pretty cool. Our new favorite ride is Tatsu, so freaking awesome. Horray for a fun day.
Now to get some sleep for the upcoming work week.

Friday Night Fun

Paul's work got some free Kings tickets and since they couldn't take the boys the staff took them. We left early and headed up to grab dinner at Souplantation before going to the game.

Luckily there was still some $6 parking when we got there just 20 min before the game was to start. We walked around for a bit, checked out the team store and found our seats. Suprisingly not many of the staff showed up for the game. After the second period we got up to go see if we could meet up with Jeric to hang out for a few minutes. It is to bad we didn't have longer to hang out with them.
Sadly the Kings lost to the Boston Bruins but we had some excitment as Steve Carell, John Krasinski, and Milo Ventimiglia were all at the game just below our seats on center ice. Here are some photos of the evening for your viewing pleasure.

Theme of the Week

I have found myself looking at this quote quite often this week. It is really important for me to remember that I have done what I could and not to continously worry about what is in the past. That I need to move forward with inner strength. I will have only failed if I never tried.

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with old nonsense" -Ralph Waldo Emerson

San Diego

After work on Friday I hopped in my car and headed to SD. I picked up my mom at the house and we headed to my cousin Josh's football game. Just a few minutes into the game Josh's sister Manda and her BF showed up. I was suprised since I didn't know she was coming. I am glad they came out to watch the game, it was fun to hang out with them during the game. We had a good time watching Josh who got to play most of the game, and his team the Sultans came out victorious. Saturday took me to the doctors to get my finger x-rayed and to a hair dresser (who took off way more than she was supposed to). Then Mom and I went out to lunch and to run errands. We picked Amy up to come over and hang out, do some homework and watch Grey's.

Sunday began with church and a moving sermon on Heart and how you need to have passion for what you are doing when using your spiritual gifts. Then Beth and I went out for lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Tierrasanta. It was a lovely time. I could have hung out there and talked all day. This is probably the longest amount of time that just the two of us have hung out alone talking and we should have done this sooner :) After lunch I jumpped into my car and went over to Adrienne's 2nd birthday party. It was good to hang out with Erin, see the family and meet some of her neighbor friends.

This one goes out to Nick and John. Sing it if you know it guys!

And in case you missed it....

What the deuce?!

I had an interesting drive home from work tonight.  It produced 2 blog worthy stories in the span of 40 minutes.

#1 -- I was driving in Highland Park to get on the freeway.  The car that was a bit in front of me hit the brakes and then took off fast.  The area is dark so it was hard to see what was going on, but then I saw some guy in the middle of the street throw something at the car.  As I drove by he was struggling to pull something out of the backpack he was holding.  I sped up at that point though not fast enough because as I passed, something hit my car.  I kept going and saw the guy swing his backpack to hit the car behind me.  Good times.

#2 -- I keep going and get off the 5 at Imperial Hwy.  I had to stop at a light in Norwalk (right before the bridge for the transportation center for those who know the area).  As I'm waiting at the light a 50-ish black guy comes out of the transportation center driveway and starts crossing the street in front of me.  When he got in front of my car he stopped and stared at me.  I didn't make eye contact, but noticed that his eyes were all over the place.  He started to walk up to my window so I figured he was going to ask for money.  Wrong.  He decided instead to jump up on the hood of my car.  What the.....?  Then he squatted down and looked in through the window (eyes still all over the place).  He then jumped off and kept walking across the street.

And here I thought I left all the crazies back at work.

I love this show...
