For some reason, I never seem to notice celebrities out in public. I mean it's not like I'm around them all the time, but every now and then someone I'm with will point out someone famous that we walked right by. I guess I'm just not expecting to see anyone famous out and about. Tonight I actually noticed someone for myself. I was picking Trisha up from LAX and as we walked into the parking structure, Kerri Kenney-Silver was waiting for the elevator! I've been watching her ever since she was on The State and still love her on Reno 911!

Question: What do Jasper, Alabama and Al-Manamah, Bahrain have in common?
Answer: Their love of John Krasinski from The Office!
Seriously, check out our site meter at the bottom of the blog. When we posted those pics from the Kings game the other night, apparently the only other blog to have similar pics was Perez Hilton. Some celebrity blogs found our pics and linked to them, so now we've been getting all kinds of people checking us out. We usually average 16 hits a day. The past 2 days we've had over 500....most from the johnkrasinski.net site. I'm starting to see why there are so many paparazzi out there. I had no idea so many people out there are obsessed with celebrity pics. Maybe this could be a new career option for me. I like taking pictures. How hard could it be to learn how to stalk people?

I'm ready to let the world know...
I have a confession to make. It's something I'm not proud of, but after talking to a reader of this blog who seems to be leaning the same way, I feel safe enough to get it off my chest.
I am a Justin Timberlake fan.
It feels good to get that out there.
I first had these feelings back in 2002-3 when he released "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body". As much as I mocked him from his N*Sync days, I also found myself listening to the songs when I was scanning the radio. Both made it onto my iPod. I was able to put these feelings aside for a few years as no new albums were released.
Recently, I have been hit with another batch of songs. "SexyBack" was followed by the superior "My Love" which now has been blown away by "What Goes Around...". I can't deny it anymore.
Unlike a lot of R&B stars, Justin does know how to play an instrument, and he helps write and produce all of his songs. Although I don't know for sure, it doesn't seem like he's lip syncing when he performs either.
The guy is a stud. Surprisingly, he has been one of the best hosts ever during his two times on Saturday Night Live. He's dated Alyssa Milano (80's hottie), Cameron Diaz (90's hottie), and Scarlett Johannsen (00's hottie). Plus, he showed how smart he was with Britney Spears by buying low and selling high right before the crash. Then he went and wrote a great breakup song with "Cry Me a River" and moved on. Even his acting in recent movies isn't that bad.
He was in N*Sync. I don't have to like that. But America is very forgiving. Mohammed Ali was the most hated athlete in the world, but now he can do no wrong. Paul Reubens was once a dirty word, but is now a hot comedy guest star. Justin too can overcome his past.
And I'll be there waiting to see what he comes up with next.

I like U2. I even saw them 3 times last year. But is this really a good idea?

Churches launch service based on U2's music

A communion service based on the music of U2 has become the latest trend for a number of Episcopal churches across the U.S.
The U2Charist--named after the band and the Eucharist communion--weaves songs by the Irish rockers into a church service along with corresponding slides.
Reported by USA Today, the special service was the idea of the Reverend Paige Blair, an Episcopal priest in York Harbor, Maine, who held the first U2Charist at her church on July 31, 2005.
Kicking off with "Pride (In the Name Of Love)," the service also incorporates images from historical civil rights campaigners such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Rosa Parks.
The service has now been held in 150 churches across 15 U.S. states.
Speaking to the newspaper, Rev Blair said that the inherent Christian message in much of U2's material made them perfect for use in church.
She explained: "Bach and Handel were the popular music of their day, and they had trouble getting played in church. The Methodist hymn writers once wrote contemporary music. Are we worshiping Bono? Absolutely not. No more so than we worship Martin Luther when we sing 'A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.'"
The content of the U2Charist apparently varies from church to church, but a key part is an offering for Bono's campaign to eradicate extreme poverty and global AIDS.
On this, Blair added: "It's a big reason that this has taken off as a movement. It's what Bono and the band are passionate about."
