TGIF

Bubba, TK and I headed out to Santa Monica after traffic quieted down a bit from the Friday evening commute. Lovin the new wheel.

The goofy sisters...
Some people went a lil camera happy.
I love my BUBBA.
The three of us had a great time walking, looking around and hanging out.

We did have some excitement as just a couple blocks away there was reports of shots fired, 2 people were hit and the gunman is still on the loose last we heard. While we were crossing Ocean from the Pier towards 3rd street we saw at least a dozen cop cars rush past us on the street. Earthquake yesterday, shooting today welcome back to Cali TK.

So... That Just Happened

Last night TK and I needed to make a quick run to the store because I wanted some garlic bread to have with dinner. Very quickly we find what we were looking for and on our way to the checkout line. TK paused to look at a magazine for a moment.

While we were standing in front of a section of the magazines a man comes walking down the aisle and stops. Looks at me like why dont you move. Then a moment later said excuse me I take a step back figuring he saw something in the center part he wanted to look at or pick up. He keeps moving towards me though so I shuffle backwards as quick as I can.

He picks up the front copy of a magazine with 3 models on the cover, says hello ladies and then KISSES the one in the middle! Puts the magazine back gives me a weird look and then continues pushing his shopping cart down another aisle. I looked at TK and said Yea.... that just happened!

I said "Science is Good"

Hutch, TK, Donkey and I took a trip up to the CA Science Center. They are having a special exibit where you can pretend to be a CSI. We were assigned a crime scene and had to examine the evidence and come to a conclusion as to what happened. Being a HUGE fan of CSI: I could hardly contain myself!
After we solved the case we walked around all the rest of the rooms, and the boys found some toys to play with. Paul decided to see what hurricane winds felt like.

After the Science Center closed for the day we headed out to the rose gardens to walk around and enjoy the beautiful sights. Tons of flowers were in bloom!

As it was getting close to rush hour we decided it was time to leave and head back to the apartment to come up with a dinner plan and take naps (well some of us took naps...).

Its gunna be a hard one...

Paul, my mom and I are packed up and about to head out the door to the airport. We are leaving for Atlanta, GA. Tonight Paul and I will be going over to the funeral home to meet up with Pam. Monday services are scheduled for 2pm EST. We will be heading back home around 11am on Wednesday.

I have not shown much emotion outwardly but inside I am a wreck right now. Thank you for all of your prayers, support and kind words. I appreciate them greatly.

My daddy passed away today.

For A Good Cause

The MS Walk 2009 is only a few days away and every year I load up cans and bottles to add to the donations of all my wonderful friends and family. By the way it is not too late to donate ( I know $ is tight for everyone but even donating the cost of a latte would add up!) or JOIN US for the walk. The last 2 years we were able to raise over $1000 I hope we can repeat that this year as well.

It is really special this year that TK will be with me for the walk as I began doing this walk the year her daddy was diagnosed. It was the only way I could think of to "help" since I felt I needed to do something.

So...yesterday afternoon I packed up ALL of the recyclables and loaded up the entire back of the 4runner. Headed over to Ralph's parking lot and began to sort them all out. This is before I turned in all the glass bottles, total we made $40.

Clip Claws First!

At 10pm little did this fella know his life was going to change forever....Paul and I decided he was smelling a little funky so we went out and bought some kitty shampoo. Gizmo got into the bathtub all on his own, course he didn't know he was the one getting a bath this evening.

Our little champ did quite well, only a couple meeps, no clawing or clamoring to get out. He did try to hide in between my legs at one point, but otherwise was a model citizen and a role model to kitties everywhere on how to take a proper bath.
