TWAH

Gizmo returns to the stage just a mere 6 months later for an exciting performance of "Places I don't belong trois"

He loves his fish!

Puzzle stealing scoundrel

The TP makes him angry.

He enjoys stalking the sink from the other side of the sink......in order to get ICE CUBES!!!

Any time there is a packed suitcase, he tries to go too.

The bed in the guest room......is an excellent hiding place.

In his defense he did fall in there accidentally.

He was trying to jump on to the cabinet

G-mo's newest facination

A few days ago I had some left over ice chips from a drink, so they were tossed into the sink to melt away. Moments later I hear a weird noise coming from the kitchen, I walk in to see G-mo smacking the ice around. He will sit and stare at it for awhile waiting for the right moment to pounce on it ( he is doing this right now as I am typing!) then he begins to smack it around but of course it is cold and wet so every couple smacks he has to stop and lick his paw for a minute or so. Then the boy is back at it peering into the sink and waiting to pounce once again.

Fascinating

We have not figured out what is so interesting in our ceiling, but there must be something. Recently G-mo has decided to start hoping up on the fridge and pawing his way into the light fixtures. He tries with all his might to get his nose up in there but it is just a little too short.

Clip Claws First!

At 10pm little did this fella know his life was going to change forever....Paul and I decided he was smelling a little funky so we went out and bought some kitty shampoo. Gizmo got into the bathtub all on his own, course he didn't know he was the one getting a bath this evening.

Our little champ did quite well, only a couple meeps, no clawing or clamoring to get out. He did try to hide in between my legs at one point, but otherwise was a model citizen and a role model to kitties everywhere on how to take a proper bath.

Fetch

Our kitty is part dog. He will play fetch with his mouse on a string and it is one of the cutest things ever. He does it over and over again. Sometimes it takes him a minute because he has to get the circle on the end of the string just right in his mouth.

The Curious Case of Gizmo Hutchins

Yesterday after Cyndi got home from school, we went out to find something to do.  We considered Disneyland and a few other places, but ending up getting dinner and seeing "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".  I had seen it already with some of the boys at work, but Cyndi hadn't had a chance yet.  I did get to see a few new scenes since I was the only male staff last time and had to escort the boys to the bathroom as needed.  We also stopped by Best Buy so I where I picked up a couple of filters for my camera using some Christmas gift cards.

When we got home, we found Gizmo in the living room laying next to the can of chili from my lunch.  He had gone digging in the trash for it.  However, I noticed that the lid was missing from inside the can.  We searched and searched for it because I didn't want to be walking around barefoot at night and "find" it by cutting my foot....

We finally found it two rooms away in his food bowl.  Apparently he got enough from licking the can and was saving the lid for later.  Yes, our cat is weird.

TUNA

Now starring Gizmo in Fishy Affair

After a nice evening out with friends we came home to find this...

along with trash scattered about the floor and some empty water bottles. Paul had tuna for lunch and had willie nillie tossed it into the garbage can. As it turns out our 6 month old Gizmo LOVES tuna. He tried to rescue the can from being thrown away. We picked up the trash and looked around, didn't see the tuna can anywhere so we figured he didn't dig down deep enough. The following day this is what I saw

(sorry the video is dark, and pay no attention to the audio)

He was determined to get the lid out to get to the good stuff hidden underneath Gizmo was so kind as to show me where he had been hiding the prized possession he retrieved from the garbage.

Curious

Now starring Gizmo in Ping Pong Kitty

For Christmas Jeric got us a great book that is an Owners Manual for Cats as we have a 6 month old little critter. In the book it suggests to buy ping pong balls and put them and a kitten in the bath tub. So of course I decided to go right out and buy some to try it out. He investigated them for a moment.

Then he decided they were worthy of being batted around.

On Holiday

Earlier this month we bought a table top tree as we figured if it was a bit off the ground then Gizmo would be less likely to climb and UN-decorate it. He did have three choice ornaments that over and over again he rejected from being hung on the tree: a snowman with a bow and a bell that I made when I was like 5, a plate for Santa with a letter and cookie on it, and daffy duck holding a stocking. Merry Christmas from P&C!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.....

Today was a big day for Gizmo: he lost a tooth! He's been real bitey lately. We checked his teeth a few weeks ago and found that he had 4 large fangs in the top of his mouth. Today when we checked them, one side was bleeding. Within 10 minutes or so, the tooth was gone (but to where?). We told him he was getting to be a big boy and that tonight the tooth fairy would leave a treat under his bed. We then realized that 1.) Gizmo doesn't really have a bed. He refuses to use the one we bought for him and he just kind of roams from place to place throughout the night. And 2.) What would a kitty tooth fairy bring? Gizmo doesn't seem to care about money or catnip. Anywho...the boy continues to grow. He seems to big to still be a kitten.

Thanksgiving weekend

We had our second Thanksgiving dinner tonight down in San Diego. Thursday night we were with my family, and then had a turkey dinner with Cyndi's mom tonight. We managed to do a good portion of our Christmas shopping the past couple of days. Those we haven't bought for, we at least know what we're going to get. Gizmo has been trying to make friends with Meeko and Buddy. There was some hissing back and forth at first. Mostly the older cats are just trying to avoid Gizmo. One of them scratched him when he followed them into Sharon's room. No one has confessed yet. We'll be down here until tomorrow evening then heading home.

Journal 11/18/08

I didn't sleep good last night.  Gizmo was a hyper-hypo and made lots of noise and bite marks.  The boys were acting up again today.  They always do when it gets close to the holidays, but this year seems to be worse than others I can remember.  We prepared for it as best we could, so we'll see how it goes.  Hopefully things will settle down a bit.  I had to stay late for a staff meeting, which meant leaving during bad traffic.  When I got home, Cyndi made some seasame chicken for dinner.  After that, we went to Biola to work out for a couple hours.  We came home and watched a little tv.  I chatted a bit with mom and siblings online.  Cyndi went to bed at her normal time.  My mind is awake, but my body is sore all over so I'll probably go to bed fairly soon.  Tomorrow is a late shift and a drive out to Loma Linda for a kid's doctor appointment.
