And.... we're back!
Wow! I didn't realize it has been so long since I last posted on this blog. Now that the little Hutchkin is here I will be back to posting on this blog with more regularity and only occasionally posting on my Reproductively Challenged blog.

Interruptus
I promise I will continue to update everyone on what we did over July and August but for now I am interrupting for some big news. I am most certain everyone has heard but if not.... I AM EMPLOYED AT BIOLA! I love Biola to begin with, but then there are the people (Jeri, Ruth, Amy and now the rest of the gang I am getting to know) and the job which makes it a win-win-win in my book. I started my new position this past Monday, and while there is LOTS to learn everyone has been so wonderful with explaining how they do things and it has been fun being introduced to everyone.

Plea for a Friend
I know this is an incredible long shot of a question but...
Anyone have a surplus car? A friend of mine is looking at moving back to Cali. but she has no wheels, and needs wheels to look for work. A payment plan may be an option but she really doesn't have the cash monies for that.
If you hear of ANYTHING please let me know.

I would be forever grateful.
Thanks

Jealous?
This was my lucky day! I finally won the lottery! Well, not the California Lottery, but a lottery nonetheless. Apparently the UK Lottery is doing a promotion where they award cash prizes based on random email addresses collected by their computers before the drawing. I didn't even have to waste money buying a ticket! I just hope they can get me my money in time for me to quit my job before they try and make me work Christmas.
By the way, does anyone know how much £1,200,000 is? I'd like to start making my plans now. Thanks!

It's official...

After 7 years here, P&C is moving to a new home base. We're not going too far though. The new place is near Cerritos College. Besides getting away from the horrible maintenence issues here, we'll also be getting an extra bedroom, a dishwasher, and can have critters, all without leaving the area.
The big move will be on Saturday the 13th. We'd love some help even if you can only come for a little while. We'll feed you and everything. Good times. Let us know if you can make it so we can figure out a plan. Thanks!

Easter

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " Then they remembered his words.

Employment
Short version: I got a teaching contract for the rest of this school year
Extended version: I was called on a Monday and asked if I would be interested in applying for a temporary teaching position in a near by school district. I said sure. On Thursday I was called to say an interview would be scheduled for 3:15pm on Friday and could I make it. I said that sounded good.
So I showed up had my interview that lasted less than 30 minutes, my feeling was that it went alright but and that it was a good experience to have had the interview as I never had one before, however I figured there was someone else they were interviewing that would have been more qualified, experienced or something. Then at 8:30pm on the following Wednesday my phone rings and it is the Superintendent of Personnel with a job offer for me. I had to listen to the message three times before I believed what I heard.
I proceeded to call Paul to tell him about it but he didn't answer. I waited till he got home. Paul said what are you waiting for call them back. I did and set up a time to come sign the contract the next day. We proceeded to call family and friends and tell them the news.
I am nervous about the upcoming position, I know there will be a lot of work ahead of me. Thank you for all of you who have been praying for me to get a teaching job. I appreciate it, while this is only temporary it will really help me get my feet wet and be a great experience.
