Today was the last day of the 2nd quarter. This means it that if any of my students have maintained a C or better in both academic and behavior they are released back into regular classes. This quarter I had the pleasure of allowing one of my students this freedom. She is happy to be rejoining her friends.
I have seen such a change in her language and attitude about school. She is determined to not drop out and is interested in nursing. Whereas at the beginning of the school year she told me she would just work at McDonald's forever.
She also had a foul mouth using the F word and talking about that time of the month but in graphic terms. She no longer does this which I am most happy about. I will still check up on her and make sure she is doing well in her classes and help out any way I can. I am so very glad this chapter in her life is ending and that she is moving on to bigger and better things.
